Daylilies in Late August 2026
This was supposed to be a 24 Solar Term event, where we go see vegetation throughout the year.

Daylilies open and close in a day- that’s why they are called daylilies. They bloom biannually, and the location where I took this picture is at Maokong, on August 28, 2026, after taking a one hour hike. It’s a fairly big patch of land with daylilies grown all over it.
Thankfully after the hike and seeing the flowers there is a bus that takes us back to the city and to the metro, so we don’t need to hike another hour on our way back.
Daylilies are edible, but you have to boil it in hot water first. Tastes a little sour and perfect with broth.
